Excitement
and lots of fun for professional cyclist Tom Boonen during his visit to
Ferrari. Boonen - World Champion in 2005, four-times winner of the
legendary Paris-Roubaix and many other classics – took a break from his
cycling schedule to visit Ferrari. "A magic moment,” he said after
seeing the assembly lines. Boonen was impressed by the exceptional
standards of the working environment and especially by the red bicycles
from the Prancing Horse used by the employees to get around.
The Belgian racer concluded his visit with a test drive of the F12berlinetta on the Fiorano track accompanied by test driver Raffaele De Simone.
Ferrari fan Boonen completed a few laps on the track, immediately getting a feel for the V12. On the tarmac, slippery due to the rain, the champion gave proof of his skills on four wheels: "The F12berlinetta communicates perfectly with the driver," he said at the end of the test drive. "which is something that puts you immediately at ease. At the same time the car is incredibly powerful and dynamic. It’s from a different world!”
